TOABH: A Rose

Every horse seems to have at least three names:  the “real” one, the barn one, and that special one.  What are some of your pony’s names?

  1. Love the nicknames!
My ottb mare is registered “Dragon Wave”, her registered show name is now “Wedgewood”, Barn name “Gracie”, nickname is mainly Gracie-girl.
My gelding is registered “Bayview”, barn name “Riley”, nicknames Rileykins or Kins.

  2. I had a happy flashback when I saw the word Dunham. There’s a very small village outside Chicago called Wayne and it has a castle on Dunham Road. It’s horse country there and Dunham Woods Farm has a historic barn and hunt club. I showed there a few times. Very pretty area. Yay Dunham.

  3. This iis so funny because its SO true!
My mare’s show name is Lionheart, barn name is Nala, but she goes by Princess or “Mare-Mare”
My geldings name is The Perfect Fit, barn name is Levi, but answers to Beast or Baby Horse (despite being 14).
My baby’s show name is Libelle, barn name Ellie, but goes by Ellie Belly
