This is such a fun idea. An Eventful Life came up with post and I want to jump on the bandwagon.
The “challenge” (funny because I think all horse people could EASILY find ways to spend money) is to imagine someone gave you $100,000 free and clear. Assume taxes are already taken care of and you can spend the whole amount. The catch: you have to spend the whole amount on horse-related things. What do you buy?
$40,000 for a down payment on a gorgeous plot of land close to family and my trainer.
$10,000 create a great little riding set up at new land, great fencing, jumps, lighting (cheap lighting) and whatever else I think up.
$12,000 I would divy this out between a fancy 17hh+ OTTB (preferably black with chrome) to maybe play jumpers with and/or a cute baby warmblood to bring along in a few years. Both could live at our place with the husbands cute coming 4 year old QH. They would be one big happy and diversely breed family.
$25,000 Showing and expenses associated with it. I’d like to attempt the nearby A circuit, whether it be with O (if she can make the jump from local to A) or with one of my newly acquired ones in a few years.
$10,000 for a 2 horse trailer (I’m estimating on price here, but we never buy anything new soo….)
$3,000 for shopping!! I would get O pony would get whatever tack upgrades I can find, and if there is room left get some great new tall boots for me.
