Giveaway: Celebrating 100

I was very excited about reaching my goal of 100 follwers by 2014, and thought it’d be even more fun to celebrate it with my first giveaway!!

I was lucky enough to be in contact with Stephanie from SC Equine who specializes in custom horse hair jewelry and keepsakes. She graciously offered one of her handmade horse hair bracelets to the winner! Stephanie’s work is beautiful and you should all go check out her etsy shop here. And yes, she will use your own horses (or a special horses) hair to make the bracelet if you so choose.

  1. Cute bracelet. I don’t think I have a favorite horse memory. I have fed and brushed horses. I even had a friend who competed and her father breed horses, but me…never even rode. Le sigh. They are still beautiful

  2. What an awesome idea for a give-away! I’ve been wanting one of the bracelet’s ever since I got Red but the price is a bit steep for me. πŸ™‚

My best memory from 2013 would have to be riding tackless for the first time. We let go of a lot of fears that day, and we gained such a huge amount of trust in each other. We ride tackless all the time now, and I can’t even begin to say how much it’s helped our whole relationship, on the ground and in the saddle. I’m a huge hypo-chondriac and anxious person and I was constantly afraid of him throwing me off, but after I rode around tackless and realized that he cared too much and wouldn’t throw me off for a silly reason, it completely changed everything. πŸ™‚

  3. Congrats on 100! This is a great contest πŸ™‚ My best horsey memory of 2013 is a tie between winning my 1st blue ribbon with him and the first ride back after 4 months of lameness. Very different, but hard to pick! I will share on my blog’s FB page later on today and link you πŸ™‚ Thanks for hosting!

  4. I have stubled across your blog a few times, but I have never followed somehow. I always thought I pressed follow. Stupid Blog Lovin’. Anyways, I came across this contest and I am now following FOR SURE.

My favorite horse memory from 2013 is hard. It was a hard year that ended in the worst heart break of my life on October 11, 2013. I would have to say my happiest and favorite memory though is taking my engagement pictures with my fiance (now husband) and the horses. It was such a fun and relaxing day. We enjoyed each others company, laughed, joked, and had a really good time. I look back on that day and really smile!

  5. I do have a favorite horse memory form 2013. It is the day I met Reba, my new Shire mare. She and I found each other at a time when we needed each other. I think I needed her more than she needed me. She has been helping me put my life back together without even knowing she does it. In return, I get to spend my free time in the good company of a good horse, with good people, doing what I love the most.

  6. Congrats on 100 followers! My favorite horse memory of 2013 is an easy one: the day I brought Miles home on trial! He hopped off the trailer in a brand new place, took 15 minutes to drink some water and we tacked up for a lesson, where I jumped the biggest fence I’d jumped in more than 10 years, cantered next to the road in the grass field and was a superstar. I was sold right then and there!

  7. Congrats on 100!! My favorite memory would have to be my first time showing second level and getting a score for my bronze medal. So fun, and it was a great memory to share with a pony that I was showing intro on just a year ago…

  8. Showing in Colorado and winning champion in the adults the first week and DC’s second time in the A/Os the lease week!

    What a pretty bracelet!

  9. My best horse memory of 2013 was my 4 year old daughter riding her first “big horse” and loving it! She’s begging for lessons and can’t wait until she is 5. So happy to pass on my love of all things horses.

  10. I think my favorite memory of 2013 was getting to take a riding lesson with my best friend after more than 12 years (we both took college breaks from riding and lived in different states for a while). I rode stampede and she rode Phoenix and we had a great time. She has kept riding since which has been really awesome. I’ve been wanting a bracelet made with p’s hair but I’ve never followed through! Neat contest.

  11. I just found your blog, and I can’t wait to get caught up! My favorite memory of 2013 was successfully transitioning my horse to barefoot, and actually getting to ride him afterwards.

  13. My best memory would have to be getting back on my horse after nearly a year of injury and rehab for him. I didn’t know if I’d ever ride him again, and sitting on him again – even just sitting there – was amazing and hugely emotional for me.

  14. My favorite experience of 2013 would be purchasing my horse and therefore moving him to a barn close to my house. I have taken on 100% of the financial costs of this horse and it feels amazing to finally taking a huge step to be able to support and achieve our goals together as a team. Good luck everyone, this bracelet is beautiful. I sent my 30 YO TB’s tail to be made into a bracelet, she passed away at 29 this past fall. Love having her spirit with me at all times in a bracelet.

  15. best horse memory of all times was when my dad bought my horse cocoa when I was 7. She was the only horse I ever had and I loved her like a sister. She was the best friend I ever had. Most recent horse memory was right before Christmas…we had a tornado in town just two days before Christmas. The horse stable down the road from my house was hit and everyone in the neighborhood had damage but they all ran to the stables because they were more concerned with the horses and with luck..none were injured but the fence was down and stable was blown down. All the fellas in the neighborhood fixed it that day. Made me feel good that so amny cared and no one lost a life on our street.

  17. My favorite horsey memory has to be going home to Tennessee and riding my horse out on the trails. For the very first time, the trail ride was actually uneventful with her. She normally spooks and gets bored/antsy, but instead, she was just relaxed and calm.
