I was really flattered to be nominated by She Moved to Texas for the Sunshine Award.
The Sunshine Award is for people who “positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere.” The nominee must do the following: thank the person who nominated her, nominate ten bloggers of her own, answer the ten questions given to her, and post them and the Sunshine Award button to her blog.
Here are the questions:
Mares or Geldings? Either really. I’ve had great relationships with both. I don’t judge a horse based on gender.
English or Western? English please! I started out western and really enjoyed it….until the day I first jumped something. SOLD. My parents were horrified. I do have a western saddle and O is actually pretty cute in it. It’s typically saved for trail riding with my husbands family and when the husband wants to ride O.
Do you prefer “younger” or “older” horses? I personally do not have the budget to buy a “complete package” at this point in my life. Also, I have found that working with the younger, greener horses not only bonds you to them in a wonderful way, but teaches you so much about horses overall.
Have you trained a horse from ground zero? Not from ground zero. I have ridden some really, really green ones in my time, but nothing from the very beginning. I think it’d be really rewarding if I ever have the chance.
Do you prefer riding or groundwork? I prefer to ride. However, I hold groundwork in very high esteem. It is the base for everything!
Do you board your horse or keep it at home? Board.
Do you do all natural things or just commercial stuff?(in sense of products) I really rely on a lot of “tried and true” favorites, but I’m open to whatever gets the job done!
All tacked up or bareback? Depends on the mood! There is nothing more relaxing than taking a stroll with a favorite pony bareback. No TB’s though. That’s just torture. I’ll take my fatty appendix please. 🙂
Equestrian role model? I honestly take a lot of inspiration from my current trainers, but who doesn’t love Beezie Madden or McLain Ward!?
What’s your one, main goal, while being in the horses world? At the moment I am really focused on rehabbing O, and giving her every opportunity to heal properly from her recent issues.
Now here are my eight (I know it is usually 10, but I’m a little late in the game and many people may have already received this) nominees for the Sunshine Award are:
